  1. Various Palettes V1.00 18/2/97

  4. These are standard Acorn !Paint Palette files.
  5. By creating an optimised graphic using one of these palettes you can make
  6. the best possible looking 256 colour graphic files for displaying on the
  7. particular machines mentioned below.
  8.  
  9.  
  10. 216Palette is the standard 216 colour Netscape palette for producing
  11. optimised graphic files for web placement.
  12. (The last 40 colours are set to black)
  13.  
  14. Hint: for the best PC looking colours for web page hyperlink use.
  15. Stick to using the following RGB values:
  16. &00, &33, &66, &99, &CC or &FF hex 
  17. or 00%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% or 100% percentages
  18.  
  19. MacPalette is the standard 256 colour for the MacIntosh computer.
  20. BTW a Mac needs a Gamma boost of 1.3 to prevent any Acorn image looking 
  21. too dark on these machines.
  22.  
  23. WinPalette is the standard 256 palette for a Microsoft Windows 256 colour
  24. mode.
  25.  
  26. ROSPalette is the standard 256 palette for RISC OS.
  27.  
  28. 16Palette is the standard 16 colours used in a 16 colour mode in Windows 3.
  29. 1/95.

  31. I've also supplied small example GIF files of these as well.
